The Milky Way above the Sea of Clouds 😍 This is how locals refer to this beautiful, smooth looking layer of clouds that occurs very commonly around the mountain peaks of the Canaries. They are a result of a specific height at which temperature inversion occurs - instead of getting colder, the air starts warming up as you go higher.
The outcome is this magnificent view which in my experience drowns out any light pollution from under the clouds and grants incredible views of the night sky!

The Orion Nebula (M42) is a bright diffuse nebula visible south of the well-known Orion’s belt, about 1344 light years from Earth. It is visible to the naked eye in the night sky. It is an active stellar nursery with hundreds of stars being born in front of our eyes.

The Pleiades Star Cluster in the constellation of Taurus is the brightest of the Messier objects and can even be spotted from light polluted cities

Andromeda Galaxy (M31) is the one of the only galaxies outside our Milky Way visible to the naked eye, appearing as a fuzzy blob. It is located a mind-boggling 2.5 million light years away from us and is steadily headed towards us, expected to collide with our galaxy in some 4.5 billion years.

Its dark dust lanes, its two brightest satellite galaxies (M110 and M32) and its brightest star cluster NGC206 (bright blue on the lower left), and intensive star-forming regions (reddish clouds) are visible in the image.
